Britain in Bloom 2012
After fifteen years in the competition Belper Town Council finally achieved its ultimate goal and won a prestigious Gold Award for both its 2010 and 2011 entries.
This second Gold Award means that, in 2012, we will have an automatic entry in the Britain in Bloom competition.
The Council has a tremendously dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work extremely hard to keep Belper looking beautiful all year round.
The competition is not just about flowers or the Town looking nice - it is, more importantly, about the community and how it is involved with the Town's activities. The Town Council are very much aware of the great community spirit that exists in Belper and is hoping to access this spirit to achieve a great result in this year's competition.
Belper Town Council is responsible for organsising the 'In Bloom' competitions in Belper and have set up a comittee comprising both councillors and other interested people (residents and employers) from the community.

Tidy up your front gardens.
Hang a basket and/or place a planter outside your premises or home.
Report any fly tipping, graffiti, dog fouling, overflowing bins, weeds and excess litter to Belper Town Council.
Nobody knows when the judges will come around so, the sooner everything is spick and span, the better.
Wild about Wildflowers
The RHS, who organize the Britain in Bloom competition is asking all participants to sow wildflowers as part of a nationwide celebration to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Can you suggest any areas in Belper that would benefit from a wildflower display? The RHS are inviting each group a free packet of wildflower seeds (to cover approximately 10 sq. mtr. Please make your suggestions by the end of February.
Belper Needs You.
