- Planning Applications.
To receive the Planning Applications circulated on 18 July and 22 August. A further schedule will be circulated at the meeting. Councillors Robert Hallsworth and Joyce Sanders will report.
- Justices and Entertainments Licences.

- Payments and Receipts.
A schedule of payments and receipts from 4 July to 22 August is attached.
- Police.
The attached letter has been received from the Chief Constable in response to mine referring to the rumours set out in the third paragraph of minute 322. The meeting referred to in his letter will be at 7.30pm on Monday 17 September at Police Headquarters.
- Floral Displays.
The Town Clerk to report on the proposed winter bedding displays.
- Larks in the Park.
Councillor Richard Watson will report on this year's performances, and a debriefing meeting with the Borough Council.
- Words and Music.
The Town Clerk to report on the response to the publicity (letter and programme enclosed with the agenda), and estimated costings for the series. These may include proposals to increase the seating capacity of the Heritage Centre.
- Milford Post Office.

- Parish Boundary.
The attached plan shows the revised boundary proposed by Holbrook Parish Council.
- Budget 2002/3.
It is suggested that a small Working Party be established to give preliminary consideration to the preparation of next year's budget. The resulting draft budget will be submitted to Council on December 11. Any Councillors wishing to make proposals for consideration by the Working Party should contact the Town Clerk by October 8.
- Gipsies on Showground.
The Town Clerk to report on the costs incurred in effecting the removal of the gipsies, clearing up after them and improving the security of the site.
- Councillor Alan Cox has requested that the following resolution be put to the meeting:-
"This Council notes the latest Government research into road humps and urges Derbyshire County Council to utilise alternative methods of traffic calming so as not to add to atmospheric pollution."
- Town Vehicle.
The Ford Pick-up has developed a leak in its fuel tank. The cost of replacing it will be approximately £400. Accordingly a meeting was held with Councillors John Nelson and Randall Sanders and the outdoor staff in accordance with minute 283 (8 May) and it was decided to seek quotes for a one ton pick-up powered by lpg under a contact hire agreement. A progress report will be made.
- Calder's Corner.
Councillor John Nelson has asked the Borough Council to erect a nameplate on the piece of land at Bridgefoot overlooking the weir. After a public competition it was decided to call it Calder's Corner. The cost of the nameplate is c£260 plus VAT. The Borough Council has asked this Council to contribute 50% of the cost.
- Fair.
Mr John Proctor has asked for the Autumn Fair to be held on 1 - 3 November (Thursday to Saturday). They would start to arrive on Sunday 28 October. As the fair will be open for only three days rather than four he has offered the same fee as last year (£1,800). Mr Proctor will be hosting the opening buffet this year.
- Winter Quarters.
The Town Clerk to report.
- Amber Valley Access.
Following the Annual Meeting Amber Valley Access were informed that the Council's five representatives on the body would be Peter Arnold, Michael Bestwick, Gill Cannon, George Simpson and Frank Wheeldon. The attached letter has been received in response.
- Derbyshire Flood Defence Fair.

- Surfacing in the Town Centre.
Councillor Michael Handley wishes to raise the issue of the state of road and footpath surfaces in the Town Centre as a result of unsatisfactory and/or temporary reinstatements by public utilities.

A request for unpaid leave for the period from 8 September to mid April has been received from the Parish Warden. This has been approved by the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Working Group.
To increase the hours worked by the Assistant Town Clerk from 20 hours per week to 25 hours wef 3 September, and to consider the request from the Finance Assistant for a regrading.
