- Grant Applications
The budget for minor grants in the current year is £6,000, the same as last year, when there was an underspending of £1,000.
- St Peter's Church - 162
A grant of £250 is requested towards the cost of a Baroque Concert which will be part of the Festival to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the church organ. This application was first submitted to Committee last April but as the concert was not taking place until June 2003 it was thought more appropriate to defer consideration until the first meeting in the new financial year.
- The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir 177
An unspecified amount is requested towards the cost of a joint concert at St Peter's Church.
- Belper Celebration - 180
An unspecified amount is requested for this the third annual Celebration. The accounts for last year's event, when the Council gave a grant of £500 and underwrote it for a further £500, are attached.
- St John Ambulance - 179
A grant of £1,000 towards the cost of a defibrillator is requested.
- Monday Club - 181
A grant of £300 is requested towards running costs.
- Amber Valley Victim Support - 182
Letter attached, a grant of £250 was made last May.
- Nailer's Folk Moot 2003 - 183
A grant application will be circulated at the Committee meeting. Last year the Council underwrote the event to the sum of £1,000: £196 was required.
- Belper Pottery Bowls Club - 184
A grant of £250 towards the £410 cost of providing services to the ladies' bowls pavilion is requested. The club's accounts for the last financial year are attached.
- Belper Historical Society - 185
The Society is producing a calendar to celebrate the North Mill's 200th anniversary. The estimated cost is £1,500; the Council is asked to underwrite some or all of the cost.
- The Drop Inn - 186
A grant of up to £2,200 is requested towards the cost of running the new centre. Supporting papers and last year's accounts are attached.
- Hearing Help - 187
Letter attached. A grant of £100 was given to this organisation in July 2001.
- Chairman's items and announcements.
- Wakes Day
The Town Clerk to report on arrangements for this year's event. A request has been made for the Council to provide T-shirts for the sports leaders again and
to meet incidental expenditure of up to £100.
- Larks in the Park
To report on the programme for this summer.
- Provision of skateboarding facilities in the Belper Lane area
A joint request has been submitted to the Borough Council and this Council. See letter attached.
