- Grant Applications
The budget for minor grants in the current year is £6,000, expenditure to date is £3,150.
- Penguin Club - 188
A grant of £500 is requested towards the cost of a hi-fi unit. The Council gave the club £500 in May 2001 to help with the cost of a group holiday in Great Yarmouth.
- Belper Community Tennis Partnership - 189
A grant of £400 is requested this year towards the cost of tennis coaching for juniors. This is an annual application and last year the Council made a grant of £450.
- Belper Town Wind Band - 190
An unspecified amount is requested towards the cost of jackets for the band members. A grant of £200 was made to the band in July 2000.
- The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir - 177
At the last meeting it was agreed to underwrite the joint concert up to £250. The shortfall is £179.42, however they are hinting for the full £250 as a contribution towards their concert fee.
- Belper Music and Arts
Councillors Les Dorey and Mick Nelson will report back on the recent meeting of this organisation. The Chairman of Music and Arts ( Mr Richard Watson ) has been invited to attend.
- Wakes Day
The Town Clerk to report.
- Words and Music
- Hunter Road Allotments
- a request has been received from the Allotment Association to have a water supply installed. The cost is likely to be in the region of £1,000. The Town Clerk will report.
- one of the allotment holders has asked if she can keep a few hens on her allotment. They would be confined to a wired run in which there would be a small wooden henhouse. The Secretary of the Allotment Association has no strong views either way but has yet to speak to all the other allotment holders.
- The Lost Garden Project
