Item deferred from meeting of 13 January 2004:
At the Recreation and Development Committee meeting on the 14th January 2003 a presentation was made by Mr Kevin Hallsworth and Mr Mick Howard of the Swimming Club. It was considered that the Club would not develop unless more water time was made available for practice. As the Chairman of the Committee was also Chair of the Leisure Centre Trust it was agreed he should meet with the Club and the Manager of the Centre to see if more time could be made available to the Club.
At the meeting on 15th April it was reported that a proposal had been received from the Swimming Club and the Chairman would be meeting with them to discuss the matter further. Following the change in control Councillor Mark Robertson was charged with re-establishing contact with the Swimming Club.
Representatives of the Swimming Club will be present.
- Hunter Road Allotments
Item deferred from meeting of 13 January 2004:
It is hoped that representatives of the Allotments Association will be present.

- Grant Applications
- The Drop Inn - 198
Application attached for £1000 towards running costs. The group were given a grant of £1000 in April of last year.
- Belper Community Tennis Programme/Belper Meadows Sports Club Tennis Section - 200
Application attached for £400 towards provision of improved facilities for youth and adult players. A grant of £250 was given to Belper Community Tennis Partnership in August 2003 in respect of tennis coaching and equipment for schools.

Draft programme and River Gardens Summer Events Programme attached.
- Belper Market Towns Celebration Week
To note the Arts Trail of 10 venues including the Memorial Gardens during the week 1 - 8 May.
