AGENDA FOR THE MEETING OF 20th APRIL 2005 - 6.00 p.m.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
  1. A short period of time will be made available for members of the public to raise any Town Council issue for comment or discussion.
  2. A representative of Belper Hockey Club will address the Council concerning arrangements for this year's Bonfire Night celebrations at the Meadows.

  3. Declarations of Interest.
  4. To determine if any items should be taken with the public excluded. If it is deemed appropriate to exempt the public from any item, the following resolution will be passed:
  5. To receive and approve Minutes 64-73 of the Meeting of the Recreation and Development Committee held 5 October 2004.
  6. To discuss arrangements for Wakes Day on 30 May 2005. Clerk to report. Notes of meeting held 1 March 2005 attached
  7. Update on arrangements for the Summer season of Larks in the Parks - Councillor Les Dorey to report.
  8. To consider the following applications for grants:
    1. Amber Valley Responder Scheme - 216
        An application is attached for a grant of £500 in order for this group to purchase a defibulator.
    2. Belper Folk Club - 217
        The Folk Club is seeking agreement for the Council to underwrite this year's Folk Moot by up to £1000 as per application attached. A contribution of £703.00 was paid by the Council in 2004 being half the cost of the shortfall.
    3. To consider an application for funding from Belper & District Road Safety Committee. The application will be tabled.
    4. Belper Poetry People - 219
        To consider an application for a grant of £300 from Belper Poetry People. Information enclosed on the siting of the plaque in the Chapel Grounds.
    5. Hearing Help - 220
        To consider an application for a grant (unspecified amount) towards running costs for the provision of services in Amber Valley.
  9. To consider a request from Belper & District Neighbourhood Watch for sponsorship of £50 for the Maurice Coward Award.
  10. To consider an application from Pottery Primary School to hold car boot sales 24th April, 22nd May and 19th June 2005. Letter attached*
