  1. A short period of time will be made available for members of the public to raise any Town Council issues for comment or discussion.
  2. Police Matters:
    A representative of the local Police will be present to report on their recent performance and deal with issues raised by members.

  4. To determine if any items should be taken with the public excluded.
    If it is deemed appropriate to exempt the public from any item, the following resolution will be passed:
    "That in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, in view of the confidential nature of the business about to be transacted, it is advisable in the public interest that the public and press be excluded from the meeting and they be instructed to withdraw."
  5. To note the Minutes of the Annual Assembly of the Parish of Belper held 9 May 2006.
  6. To receive and approve Minutes 531-541 of the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 9 May 2006.
  7. To receive and approve Minutes 542-563 of a Meeting of the Town Council held on 18 May 2006.
  8. To note the Minutes of the Christmas Committee held 18 May 2006 (to be tabled).
  9. Mayor's announcements.
  10. Planning Applications:
    1. To consider the planning applications on any schedules circulated prior to the meeting.
    2. To consider the attached planning application AVA/2006/0412 in respect of the provision of lighting at Beaurepaire Garden.
  11. Finance:
    1. To approve the financial accounts for the year ended 31 March 2006. Financial comparison and Balance Sheet.
    2. To consider income and expenditure for the period 24-31 March and 1 April to 18 May 2006. Sheets attached (i) for 24-31 March attached showing expenditure of £9,611.50 (no income). Sheets attached (ii) for 1 April - 18 May showing expenditure of £28,246.11 and income of £116,777.86.
    3. To approve the payment of annual grants in accordance with the budget at the appropriate time.
  12. To consider Grant Requests as follows:
    1. Application 236: To consider a grant request of £150 from Amber Valley Access Group as attached application.
    2. Application 237: To consider a grant request of £30 from Belper and District Road Safety Committee as attached application.
    3. Application 238: To consider a grant request of £100 from Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living as attached application.
  13. To confirm the membership of Committees of the Council.
  14. Outside Bodies:
    1. To receive reports from Council representatives.
    2. To note the attached letter from Mr Peter Davies re the Beaurepaire Garden project and consider the insurance implications.
    3. To agree Council Membership of Outside Bodies. List attached for consideration.
  15. To agree a schedule and time scale for the proposed maintenance and improvement works to the Memorial Gardens including a request for removal of some of the lime trees, repairs to boundary walls, perimeter fencing, tree planting, edging and pathways plus agreed electrical works.
  16. To note the further vandalism of the stone wall along the footpath adjacent to the Coppice Car Park. Land registry searches have not been able to determine ownership.
  17. To agree a request to film inside St John's Chapel. Letter from James Reader attached.
  18. To note the proposed closure of Belper Jobcentreplus Office. Letter from Derbyshire Unemployed Workers' Centre refers.
  19. To consider a proposal from Mr and Mrs McCready of the Black Swan on Belper Market Place.
