AGENDA FOR THE MEETING OF 10th JULY 2007

  2. Police Matters. A representative of Belper Police will be in attendance to report on issues affecting Belper.

  2. Change in order of business.
  3. Declarations of interest.
  4. To determine if any items should be taken with the public excluded. If it is deemed appropriate to exempt the public from any item, the following resolution will be passed:
    In accordance with Section 1(2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, in view of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, it is RESOLVED that, in the public interest, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during discussion of the item and they be instructed to withdraw.
  5. To receive and approve Minutes 845-868 of the Council Meeting held on 12 June 2007. (Attached)
  6. To note the Minutes of Meetings of the Food Committee held a) 8 June 2007 and b) 27 June 2007.
  7. Mayor's announcements.
  8. Finance:
    To note and approve the attached Annual Return for the year ended 31 March 2007.
  9. Planning Applications:
    1. To consider the planning applications on the schedule dated 19 June 2007 (previously circulated) and 27 June 2007 (herewith).
    2. To consider the planning applications on any schedule circulated at the meeting.
  10. To receive verbal reports from Council Representatives on Outside Bodies.
  11. To receive a verbal report from Councillor Martin Tomlinson concerning the "Teen Shelter".
  12. To consider a request from Derwent Valley Mills Partnership for a grant towards the cost of publishing a Belper Town Trail leaflet.
  13. To appoint a Member to serve on the Wakes Committee to replace Councillor Kevin Hallsworth.
  14. To note the Parish Review and Alterations to Borough Ward and County Division Boundaries.
  15. To note and discuss the further response from Derbyshire County Council in connection with the Becksitch Lane traffic problems.
  16. To consider a request for reduced Chapel booking fees from Rough Truffles.
  17. To consider a request from Belper Poetry Trail to erect a poetry plaque in Calders Corner..
  18. To consider a request for a Group to carry out an overnight paranormal investigation in St John's Chapel.
  19. To consider a request from the Salvation Army to use an area of the Market Place for a Children's Fun Day (as letter attached).
  20. To consider providing a letter of support in respect of Maypole Promotions (Milford) lottery funding application.
  21. To note the arrangement for the East Midlands in Bloom Competition Judging Day on Friday 13 July 2007 (as letter attached).
  22. Health & Safety:
    1. To consider adoption of the attached revised Health & Safety Policy (following HSE guidelines).
    2. To note the attached risk assessments (including the no smoking regulations with effect from 1.7.07) for:
      1. St John's Chapel and
      2. the Council Depot
  23. To consider a request from Friends of Belper Parks for a trellis to be erected in the Coppice Car Park (as per attached e-mail).
