AGENDA FOR THE MEETING OF 8th APRIL 2008

PART 1 - NON EXEMPT (NON CONFIDENTIAL) INFORMATION
  1. Apologies and reasons for absence.
  2. Order of Business.
  3. Declarations of interest.
  4. To determine if any items should be taken with the public excluded. If it is deemed appropriate to exempt the public from any item, the following resolution will be passed:
    In accordance with Section 1(2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, in view of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, it is RESOLVED that, in the public interest, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during discussion of the item and they be instructed to withdraw.
  5. Public Participation:
    A short period of time will be made available for members of the public to raise any Town Council issues for comment or discussion.
  6. Police Matters: A representative of Belper Police will be in attendance to report on issues affecting Belper.
  7. County Councillors-; Briefing. Councillor Chris Jackson to report.
  8. To receive and approve Minutes 1030-1053 of the Council Meeting held on 11 March 2008.
  9. To note the Minutes of a Meeting of the Belper Food Committee held 4 March 2008.
  10. Mayor's announcements.
  11. Finance:
    1. To note and agree income and expenditure incurred in the month covering transactions 1258-1355. (Schedules attached showing Income of £673.62 and Expenditure of £30284.79).
    2. To note the bank reconciliation for current/public reserve accounts.
    3. To note the appointment by the Audit Commission of Jackie Bellard as External Auditor.
  12. Planning Applications:
    1. To consider the planning applications on the schedules dated 13-19 March (already circulated), 20-26 March and 27 March to 1 April 2008.
    2. To consider the planning applications on any schedule circulated at the meeting.
  13. Grant Applications:
    1. Mencap. Ref: 268
      To consider a request for a donation of an unspecified amount. Attached letter refers.
    2. Belper Thursday Club: Ref: 269
      To consider a request for £250 in respect of a coach outing. Attached grant form refers.
  14. Outside Bodies.
    To receive verbal reports from Council Representatives on outside bodies.
  15. Council Vacancy: To note that Notices have been posted seeking nominations of candidates.
  16. Belper In Bloom.
    To agree to place an order for Derbyshire County Council to carry out work to reduce the height of the chevrons on the Morrisons-; roundabout on the A6. Councillor John Nelson will report on possible grant funding assistance towards the total cost of £2500.
  17. Market in Belper: To consider the attached proposal from Mr Richard Watson.
  18. Green Walk: To note the attached request from Mr Peter Davies for repairs to be carried out to the wire fencing.
  19. To agree the purchase or lease of a replacement photocopier as per the attached quotation.
  20. Items for Information: To note and discuss as required the items of correspondence detailed on the schedule attached. All correspondence is available for inspection from the Clerk.
