37th ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF PARISH MEETING

will be held in the Council Offices, St John's Chapel, The Butts, Belper on Tuesday, 17 May 2011 at 7.00 pm
The business to be transacted is set out in the Agenda below.

The meeting will commence with prayers.

AGENDA

  1. To appoint a Clerk for the meeting.
  2. To receive and approve the Minutes of the 36th Annual Assembly of Parish Meeting held 11 May 2010.
  3. To receive the Annual Report detailing the work of the Town Council for the Municipal Year 2010/2011.
  4. Budget and Council Tax Precept for 2011/12. A copy of the budget is attached which shows the precept of £242.950.
  5. To consider any other Parish matter which may be brought forward for consideration by the Town Council or local government elector(s).
NB The public are entitled to be present at the meeting but such persons only as are local government electors for the Parish may be allowed to speak.

  1. Election of Town Mayor.
  2. Election of Deputy Town Mayor.
  3. Apologies for absence. (Reasons for absence must be given)
  4. To receive Members' Declaration of Acceptance of Office (including agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct and a declaration for the Registers of Interests).
  5. Order of Business
  6. Public Participation:
    A short period of time will be made available for members of the public to raise any issues with Members of the Town Council.
  7. Police:
    A representative of the local police will be present to discuss any law and order issues that are raised at the meeting.
  8. To confirm the Minutes of the Annual Meeting held 11 May 2010 as approved by Council on 8 June 2010. (Attached)
  9. To approve the Mayor's Allowance for 2011/2012 (Budget £2,323).
  10. Appointment of Members to Council Committees 2011/2012.
    A schedule showing the Schedule of present Membership of each Committee is attached for information.
  11. Appointment of Representatives to Outside Bodies for 2011/2012
    The Schedule of present Representatives on Outside Bodies is attached for information.
  12. Dates of Council and Committee Meetings in 2011/2012.
    A Proposed Schedule of Meetings is attached for consideration.
  13. To review and adopt the mandatory amendments of the Town Council's Standing Orders. (Attached)
  14. To review the Town Councils Financial Regulations.
  15. To approve the attached Statement of Accounts, Annual Governance Statement and Annual Internal Audit report.
